Webhosting

Page

We currently do not accept new websites. This is probably going to change at some point, but we (as a collective) need to work on other things first.

We currently do not provide statistics, that might change sometime but it is not a priority at all yet.

Basically, we offer subdomains of this form: https://mysite.squat.net, but you can also use your own domain or subdomain. To do so, please get in touch with us!

WordPress

We won’t give you hints here on how to manage your wordpress website. The internet is full of howtos and great documentation about it!

  • We can host a wordpress blog for your squatting collective. To request such a service, please get in touch with us.
  • To access the admin page, please go to https://myblog.squat.net/wp-admin and enter the credentials we sent you by email. If it is your first login, please change your password.
  • If you want a plugin that is not available by default, please get in touch with us. We will review it, and if we think its safe enough in terms of security, we will install it.
  • If you want a theme that is not available by default, please also get in touch with us. We will review it, and if we think its safe enough in terms of security, we will install it.
  • If you want to have an agenda on your website, we suggest you use the Radar plugin (available in the Plugins menu)
  • As we use a WordPress farm, you won’t have to care about updates. You won’t even be able to do the updates yourself anyway.

Custom websites

What we call “Custom websites” are websites not run by WordPress (ie. Drupal, Joomla, static or handmade websites)

We currently won’t host new custom websites. Though, we could make a squat.net subdomain point to a server where your website is hosted. To request such a service, please get in touch with us.

Documentation for website owners can be found here.
